EXAMINATION FOR PART TIME POLICE OFFICER IN
BOROUGH OF RIDLEY PARK
 
 
NOTICE is hereby given that the Civil Service Commission of the Borough of Ridley Park will hold a written examination for applicants to qualify for appointment of part time police officers in the Borough. The written exam will be rendered at the Ridley Park Police Dept. located at 230 W. Chester Pike, Ridley Park, PA 19078 on September 13th, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. An applicant at the time of the written examination must provide a note from their family doctor indicating they underwent a physical and are cleared to undergo a Physical Agility Test. The Physical Agility Test will be held at the Ridley Middle School located at 400 Free Street, Ridley Park, PA 19078 on September 15th, 2012 at 6:00 p.m.
 
An application must be fully completed before taking these tests. Applicants shall be at least 18 years of age at the date of the application, at least a High School Graduate (or GED Equivalent), an American Citizen, licensed to operate a motor vehicle in Pennsylvania, and have an Act 120 certification.
 
An applicant must pass the Physical Agility test and both a written and oral Police Officer Civil Service Test with a minimum grade of 70 on each test.
 
When an applicant receives a conditional offer of employment from the Borough of Ridley Park, an applicant must undergo a psychological exam, a medical exam, a drug test, and a background investigation. The costs of these exams will be borne by the Borough of Ridley Park. Applicants who fail any of these items shall be eliminated from any further consideration for employment.
 
Application forms may be obtained from the Ridley Park Borough Hall located at 105 E. Ward Street, Ridley Park, PA 19078, Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. or the Ridley Park Police Dept.
 
Completed applications to take the exam for a part time police officer will be received and must be filed at the Ridley Park Borough Hall on or before August 30th, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. along with a nonrefundable application fee in the amount of $35.00. Personal checks are not accepted. Payment should be made in cash or money order made payable to the Borough of Ridley Park.
