NOVEMBER POLICE REPORTS

FALSE IDENTIFICATION/WARRANT

 A 36 year old Ridley Park man was arrested on outstanding warrants out
of Philadelphia on November 6th. at 7:45 a.m.. Corporal John Morris made a
routine vehicle stop on Sellers Ave. at Chester Pike. The operator stated
his name, which came back as a wanted subject out of Philadelphia. When he
was transported to Ridley Township police for a line scan, it was determined
he had given Morris a false name, his real name was Frank Orlando, from the
unit block of Chester Pike. It turned out, that like the false name he gave,
he also was wanted out of Philadelphia. He was arrested for the warrant and
charges were also filed for providing false information to law enforcement.
He was turned over to Philadelphia Police at Ridley Park Police
Headquarters.
 


ASSAULT

Police are investigating an assault on Dutton Street. Police were
dispatched on November 11th. at 6:06 p.m. to the unit block of Dutton for a
assault. Upon arrival, the offender was not on location. Information was
provided that the offender was an ex-boyfriend of the victims girlfriend.
Detective Snyder is conducting a follow up investigation


ATTEMPTED CARJACKING

At 1:31 a.m. on November 14th. police responded to a call for a male
attempting to enter an occupied vehicle. A 22 year old female from Norwood
told Corporal Robert Frazier that she was stopped for the red light on
Sellers Ave. at Swarthmore Ave., when a white male, wearing a black shirt
attempted to get into the passenger side door of her vehicle. The door was
locked, and she sped off, and called 911. A check of the area turned up no
suspects. The victim reports that there was another vehicle behind her, but
she does not know if the actor came from that car.


THREATS

 An 11 year old boy was taken out of Ridley Middle School by police
after it was discovered he had made threats against the school and another
student. The student was taken to CCMC Crisis Center, and charges were filed
with the District Attorney's office.


DUI

  A 21 year old Prospect Park man was arrested on November 21st. for DUI.
Jesse Whitten, from the 600 block of 11th. Ave. was observed by Corporal
John Morris operating his vehicle in a careless manner and at a high rate of
speed at 1:45 am in the 100 block of Chester Pike. Once stopped it was
determined that he was very intoxicated. He was placed under arrest, and
transported to Taylor Hospital for blood tests. He was released to a friend.


DOMESTIC ASSAULT

 A father and son have been charged in a domestic case on Thanksgiving
night at 6:29 p.m.. Corporal Jim  Nasella responded to the 100 block of
Delaware Ave. for a domestic fight. Upon his arrival, he found a 26 year old
female in the street, bleeding from the face. Upon investigation it was
found that the female, had been having a fight with her boyfriend, Brian
Muscella, 30 from the Delaware Ave address. The fight was taking place
inside the home, he began to throw her clothing outside the second floor
window. The female then began to yell at Brian's father, Ronald Muscella,
56, of Delaware Ave.. The elder Muscella then pushed the victim, nearly causing her
to fall, then with a closed fist punched her in the face, causing injuring
to her nose. The victim was transported to Taylor Hospital for treatment.
Ronald Muscella was charged with assault, Brian Muscella was charged with
Disorderly Conduct. Ronald was held in Ridley Park police cells overnight,
then transported to court. Corporal Robert Frazier and Officer Marc Hanly
assisted with the arrest, as well as officers from Prospect Park.


BURGLARY

    Police are investigating a home break into in the 500 block of Bonsall
Road. On November 26, Officer Ted Woolery responded to a burglary discovered
call at 8:25 p.m.. Upon arrival he was advised by the homeowner that they
discovered the side door open when they returned home. As he checked his
home he discovered someone had entered the home through the back window.
Det./Sgt. Snyder was able to lift several finger prints from the glass in the
rear window at the point of entry. At this time nothing appears to be
missing from the home. It is believed that the intruder was scared off by
something or someone. Anyone with information is asked to call Det. Snyder
at 610-532-9631. It is the second break in to occur in this area in the last
two months.  Chief Byrne and Det. Snyder assisted Woolery at the scene.

 


WARRANT

  Michael Breeden, 34 years old from the 300 block of S. Camac Street in
Philadelphia was arrested on an outstanding bench warrant out of
Philadelphia. Officers Marc Hanly and Steve Corsi responded to a report of
an intoxicated man at the Ridley Park Train Station on November 27th. at
7:23 a.m.. Upon arrival they located Breeden on the train platform. Upon
speaking with him, it was obvious to officers that he was highly
intoxicated, and was taken into custody. Once in custody it was discovered
he was wanted by the city of Philadelphia. Breeden was cited by Ridley Park
Police for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness, and taken to Ridley
Park Headquarters. Philadelphia Police did respond and take him into custody
on the warrant.


BURGLARY


  Police are investigating two more burglaries that occurred November
29th. Both properties back up to the Amtrak railroad tracks, one on E.
Hinckley, the other on E. Ridley Ave.. Some evidence was removed and taken
to Ridley Park Police for processing. Chief Tom Byrne is reminding all
residents to keep their doors and windows locked, and encouraging anyone
who sees anything suspicious to call 911. Police do have an interest in a
tall, white, thin built male, last seen wearing a red sweat shirt. Anyone
with information is asked to call Det. Snyder at 610-532-9631.

 


DRUG ARREST

  Two 19 year old females have been arrested and charged with drug
possession. Three others were charged with Disorderly conduct from the same
incident. Officer Robert Quinlan conducted a vehicle stop in the 300 block
of Holland Street at 10:40 p.m. on November 29th. During the stop he
discovered 3 of the subjects in possession of a small amount of suspected
marijuana. The other two, Colleen Dowd from the 100 block of Christian
Street, Clifton Hts. and Danielle Shillinton from the 600 block of Stockton
Circle were in possession of larger amounts, as well as packing product for
possible sale. They were detained in Ridley Park Police Headquarters until
morning then taken to Judge Lippart where they were released on bail.
