DUI
A 46 year old Media man has been arrested for DUI. Officer Marc Hanly responded to a report on December 12th. at 1:01 a.m. of a unconscious subject in a vehicle at Chester Pike and Stewart Ave.. Upon arrival he found Daniel Patrick O'Meara of the unit block of Langstoon Lane slumped over the wheel. The officer was able to reach in, turn off the car and place the vehicle into "Park". A strong odor of alcoholic beverage was coming from the driver. The driver was removed and was found to have slurred speech and a staggered gait, as well as blood shot eyes. He was transported to Taylor Hospital for a blood test.
DUI /Hit & Run
A 47 year old Springfield man was arrested for DUI and hit and run for an incident that started in the 400 block of N.Swarthmore Ave. on December 11th. at 11:50 p.m.. James MacNiven of the 200 block of Sedgewood Road struck another vehicle in the 400 block of N.Swarthmore Ave., then failed to stop. Information was passed on to other Police departments and the vehicle was stopped by Ridley Township police at Morton and Swarthmore Ave.. in Ridley Township. Corporal Mark Bascelli responded and interviewed by parties involved in the crash. While conducting the investigation he did detect a strong odor of alcoholic beverage on the breath of Macniven, as well as glassy blood shot eyes and an unsteadiness while standing. He was advised he was under arrest and did summit to a blood test at Taylor Hospital.
THEFT FROM VEHICLE
Two work trucks were broken into over night on December 11th.. One truck was parked in the 300 block of Morton, the other in the 100 block of McCormick. In both cases forced entry was used to enter the trucks and remove tools. Anyone with information is asked to call Det. Sgt. Snyder, 610-362-7401 ext. 102.

AGGRAVATED DOMESTIC ASSAULT
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Michael Dolphin, 47 from the unit block of West Chester Pike in Havertown. On December 10th 10:30 p.m., Officer Marc Hanly responded to an apartment in the 100 block of W. Chester Pike for a domestic in progress. Upon his arrival he found a 43 year old female victim laying in the grass outside the building. Injuries were observed by Officer Hanly to the victims eye, which was swollen shut, and a large black and blue bruise to the left side of her face. Blood was coming from her mouth. The victim advised Hanly that Dolphin had left the area in a green Ford Explorer. The victim was transported to CCMC by Norwood Ambulance. Dolphin was arrested by Haverford Police, and turned over to the Ridley Park Police on December 12th.
INTERNET SCAM
Police are investigating an internet scam concerning a rental home in the mountains. Several victims sent money to rent a home that they found on " home-away.com". Their checks were cashed and they were provided a contract. However, when they went to check on the home they found that there is no such address in the Arrow-Lake Resort. Corporal Jim Nasella is investigating along with internet fraud division of the U.S. Secret Service.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT
A 52 year old Sharon Hill woman was arrested for Disorderly Conduct on December 8th. at 6:04 p.m.. Police were called to the Ridley Park Plaza Apartments where they encountered Mary Ann Dorgan. Dorgan was involved in a domestic dispute and was highly intoxicated and uncooperative with officers. She was transported to Ridley Park Headquarters and held until she was sober. Officer Robert Quinlan was the arresting officer.
